Ilana is a writer specializing in cultural and digital trends. She holds a BFA in Medical Illustration from VCU School of the Arts and an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Iowa, where she was an Iowa Arts Fellow. With nearly a decade of experience, her work has appeared in Gawker, VICE, and the Chicago Review of Books. A recipient of a UNESCO Cities of Literature Residency, her writing has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. Drawing on her background in illustration, Ilana brings a visual sensibility to her coverage of design and creative culture. When she’s not writing, she’s running, painting, or optimistically knitting the world’s slowest cardigan.
