Goodbye black bars, watermarks, and late-night eye strain. Meet the five updates further elevating your Envato experience.

When you spend your days creating, the last thing you need is friction from the tools you rely on. That’s why, over the past few months, we’ve rolled out a set of improvements that directly result from your feedback.
From the long-awaited Dark Mode to the game-changing Claim Clear system, these updates are all about saving you time, streamlining workflows, and removing everyday annoyances, so you can focus on what’s important — making great creative work.
Let’s dive into each quality of work-life improvement to find out more, shall we?
1. Dark Mode is here
Yes, you read that right: Dark Mode is now live. No more late-night editing sessions staring into a blindingly bright interface. With the flip of a switch, your Envato dashboard transforms into a sleek, eye-friendly workspace. Just click the little moon symbol on the top right of your dashboard and voilà. Let there be night.
Why it matters: Dark Mode reduces eye strain, conserves battery life on many devices, and simply looks cool. For designers, video editors, or just any creative who spends hours browsing, this update is a game-changer.
2. Copyright claims? Not your problem with Claim Clear
Nothing kills momentum like uploading a video, checking back later, and finding that dreaded yellow dollar sign. YouTube processed over 2 billion Content ID claims last year — that’s 6 million every single day — and too often, even properly licensed Envato tracks got flagged. The result? Your ad revenue headed to someone else while you scrambled to prove you’d actually paid for the music.
Claim Clear fixes that. It’s built right into your Envato subscription and works in three ways:
- A dedicated library of pre-cleared tracks that won’t trigger claims in the first place.
- Channel safelisting to clear future video uploads automatically.
- A quick way to resolve individual claims by pasting in the video URL.
Instead of wasting hours in dispute limbo, Claim Clear gives you peace of mind and keeps your revenue where it belongs. You can browse Claim Clear-ready music in the Envato library today and start uploading without fear of copyright strikes.
3. Vertical video previews have never looked better
Remember the days of squished thumbnails, black bars, or sideways previews when you browsed vertical videos? That’s now history! Vertical stock videos now display natively in the Envato library.
The change means you can browse vertical and horizontal videos in a single seamless grid, without distortion or wasted space. Thumbnails appear at the correct size, previews show in the right aspect ratio, and you can filter your searches by “Orientation” to quickly find vertical or horizontal content. If you work on TikToks, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts, this update means less guesswork and more confidence when picking the right clips for your project.
4. Watermark-free music previews
If you’ve ever scrolled through background tracks on Envato and been interrupted by a jarring “AUDIOJUNGLE”, you know the struggle. For paying subscribers, that audio watermark was a pain point. That’s why we kicked it to the curb.
Now, subscribers can preview music in full clarity — exactly as they’ll sound in your project. No interruptions, no distractions, and no second-guessing whether a track works for your video. This small change makes a big difference, especially when you’re auditioning multiple tracks quickly to find the perfect fit. After all, you wouldn’t choose a font while squinting through a blur, so why choose music through a watermark?
5. Default video downloads in 1080p
Not every project needs the heft of 4K. In fact, our research showed 1080p is still the most requested resolution. That’s why videos on Envato now default to 1080p downloads — lightweight, fast, and storage-friendly.
This means faster downloads when you’re testing clips, manageable file sizes when working across laptops or cloud storage, and just the right resolution for social platforms that compress uploads anyway. Of course, if your project does demand cinematic quality, 4K is still available at the download stage. But for most workflows, the new 1080p default saves time and space without compromising on quality. It’s the little things.
TL;DR: We hear you, we care, and we’ll keep getting better
These five changes are just some of the many ways we are constantly working to improve your Envato experience. Because with less friction and fewer headaches, you can focus more on what you actually want to do: create!
So, enjoy the updates, and go make some cool stuff. In the meantime, we’ll keep listening and improving.
Ciao for now.
