2024 was a big year at Envato. We unveiled a brand-new brand, celebrating our creatively obsessed community with a bold new identity and fresh campaigns. We predicted and set trends, smashed our company goals, and helped millions of creatives worldwide to make their mark and earn a living doing what they love.

We revamped our platform with exciting updates, enhancing search and discovery and rolling out our new look. Along the way, we hit incredible milestones—20 million creative assets, 1.5 million Envato Tuts+ YouTube subscribers—and launched exciting new features and categories, including Sounds Like search and a whole new 3D category.

But the real magic? That’s all you—our incredible creative community. Let’s explore the unforgettable achievements that defined 2024 and look ahead to what’s next!

1. Our 2024 milestones

We launched our new brand

In August, we introduced the world to a new-look Envato, rolling out the green carpet for a new logo, color palette, and visual identity. Our rebrand wasn’t just a facelift—it’s a bold statement about who we are, what we stand for, and the endless creativity we’re here to enable. It celebrates our creative community, always chasing better—better assets, workflow, output, and ways to bring ideas to life.

Our new logo comprises the ‘Creative Spark’—a symbol of energy and dynamism fueling creativity—and the ‘Dynamic Dot’—a representation of each creative individual making their unique mark on the world.

The Journey to Finding Our “Creative Spark”

Passionate about drawing from our community’s talent, our in-house Creative team collaborated with Envato Author and Norwegian-based designer Milos Mitrovic to create our new wordmark and with New York-based composer and SyncHits contributor K. Sparks for our sonic branding.

Our ‘Creatively obsessed’ brand campaign hit the US

In October, we launched our first major campaign since our August rebrand. ‘For the creatively obsessed’ celebrates creatives striving for more—unable to resist the urge to mark up the world around them. It was inspired by the original research-backed insight that drove our rebrand–that creatives live to “make their mark.”  This campaign focuses on the pursuit of perfection that leads them there.

Splashed across the streets of Los Angeles and New York, the campaign featured almost true stories of creatives obsessing over the details—like adjusting the pitch of a police siren mid-police pullover.

And because we’re creatively obsessed too, we launched Envato Remixes—a meta-twist on our campaign, where we applied the subtle tweaks only a discerning creative eye could catch—all while showcasing the Envato product and broad library of assets.

Envato was acquired by Shutterstock

In May, Shutterstock, Inc. (NYSE: SSTK) announced it had entered into an agreement to acquire Envato. This was successfully closed in July and perfectly timed with the rollout of our new brand. The partnership combines our strength in creative assets and templates with Shutterstock’s broad reach and resources, further supporting our creative community.

Reflecting on this transition, Envato’s founder, Collis Ta’eed, expressed: “I’m optimistic for Envato’s future as the team enters this new chapter. I am eager to witness how it continues to shape and empower the creative community worldwide.”

We remain committed to fostering creativity and innovation within our vibrant community as we evolve under this new ownership.

Our broad library of assets grew to over 20 million

In 2024, we hit a milestone for our content library: 20 million assets! Our library has grown at lightning speed, doubling in just two years and giving creators more choice than ever to fuel their next big idea.

Our 20+ million assets cover the broadest possible range, including 3D items from industry-leading organizations, music from Grammy-winning musicians, and motion graphics from world-class animators!

We celebrated 1.5 million subscribers on Envato Tuts+

Since we launched Envato Tuts+ in 2007, we’ve helped millions of creatives learn new skills and explore new ways of doing things with Envato. This year, our YouTube channel reached a massive milestone: 1.5 million subscribers (and counting)!

Whether you want to learn how to design a website, color grade a video, or master Adobe Photoshop, Envato Tuts+ is the place to go for thousands of free courses and tutorials to help you improve the way you work. This year, our viewers clocked up over 2.4 million hours of watch time (more than 273 years!), and we had 23+ million views on the channel.

2. Adding extra value with new content & tooling

Our 3D category got extra dimension

In November, we launched a new and improved 3D category with a dedicated homepage, curated collections, tutorials, and optimized search functionality. We also teamed up with industry leader KitBash3D to give you access to professionally crafted models, textures, and scenes.

New 3D category on Envato

With the buzz around 3D tools such as Spline and Blender in 2024 and the use of 3D assets in 2D motion design and other creative work, 3D made total sense as a category on Envato. Whether you’re a designer or video creator, 3D can complement your work and provide opportunities to learn and grow.

Our music library got a remix!

We revamped our music library in October with new curated collections, fresh playlists, and more authentic music.

Plus, finding what you’re looking for is now a breeze with Sounds Like search. Just paste a link from Spotify or YouTube of a track you like, and our music-matching intelligence will curate a list of similar tracks from the Envato library.

We’ve made it easier than ever to find exactly what you need to make your projects sing, and our audio category will also receive plenty more improvements in 2025!

Vector search made photo-finding simple

In March, we rolled out AI-powered vector search in our photo library, making finding the shot you’re looking for easier.

Vector search uses AI to understand the meaning behind your search terms to provide you with the best matches in our library. Whether your search terms are long, hyper-specific, or full of typos, vector search has you covered, showing you the most relevant photos to your projects.

We integrated Envato into even more of your workflows

Our Envato Labs team unleashed eight game-changing extensions in 2024, letting you create faster and smarter without leaving the platforms you love. From Photoshop and Premiere Pro to Canva and Figma—your workflow just got a serious upgrade!

If you’re an Adobe Creative Cloud user, you can access Envato photos in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, plus music, sound effects, videos, and AI search features in Premiere Pro and After Effects. On Canva, Figma, and Adobe Express, Envato subscribers can directly search and import photos and Icons from the Envato library into their projects. Plus, you can generate icons with AI to suit any project.

We also launched ImageGen, an AI-powered feature that allows you to create unique images from text prompts. If that wasn’t enough, the AI Labs team has just launched ImageEdit, a new feature that allows you to edit images quickly, including background removal, upscale, and replace objects.

3. Making a difference

As a certified B Corp, we’re committed to improving the world for people and the planet. To this end, we’re proud to share some of our work via the Envato Foundation, a charitable foundation funded by Envato’s pre-tax profits dedicated to creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.

In 2024, the Envato Foundation donated over $400,000 USD across seven charities, including Schools Plus, Deadly Science, Enrise, Yalari, Indigenous Literacy Foundation, Story Factory and Ganbina. We also helped support the first-ever First Nations crowdfunding event hosted by The Funding Network.

We partnered with DeadlyScience to provide essential STEM resources to First Nations youth

In 2024, the Envato Foundation partnered with DeadlyScience, an Indigenous charity working to create STEM equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners. Our partnership provided tools, books, and other science resources directly to First Nations students, empowering young minds to dream big and make their mark.

We supported the Pitjantjatjara Mathematics Program

The Envato Foundation partnered with Schools Plus to bring the Pitjantjatjara Mathematics Program to Areyonga School, 215km west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.

By integrating Pitjantjatjara, the students’ first language, into their mathematics lessons, the program strengthened numeracy skills and honored the rich cultural heritage of the Aṉangu people.

Collaborating with local Elders to develop a mathematical language in Pitjantjatjara, the program created a curriculum rooted in cultural authenticity that enriched learning for students and empowered local teachers with invaluable resources.

Our work in Mexico

We may be a global business, but we know how important it is to make an impact locally. In Mexico, where many of our team is based, we donated $180,000 USD to three nonprofit organizations, including Cres Estipac, Oni (Infant Nutrition Organism), and Mayama—all of which work to provide education, nutrition, and support for children and young people in Mexico.

Together, in 2024, we hit milestones, launched game-changing tools, and celebrated creativity of all kinds. None of this would have been possible without you—our creative community who bring ideas to life and make Envato what it is.

Let’s keep dreaming big, creating boldly, and pushing boundaries together in 2025!
